The 8-petal flower is one of the most enduring motifs in ancient Iranian art. Harmony motif is seen on the stone reliefs throughout Achaemenid and Sassanian design, and a symbol of eternity, harmony, and the cycle of life. Rooted in Mesopotamian traditions and adapted in Persia, the motif carried forward into Islamic art, where it evolved into geometric and floral patterns on tiles, textiles, and architectural ornament.
Each Bookmark is handmade and signed, created with care using the ancient art of block printing. The colors are richly pigmented with a soft matte finish and low-VOC formulation, while the paper is durable and of high quality.
