Episode 2: from a lovely bathroom with traces of spring blossoms
It was early autumn. The light, still carrying a trace of summer’s warmth, poured in through the half-open window and fell across the white tiles of the tub, filling the air with a cool morning freshness. The room was square, with a ceiling just high enough to give it a sense of generosity. Silence settled everywhere, broken only by the gentle movement of the evergreen tree outside the window.
The flooring was smooth, cool stone in a creamy shade, beautifully reflecting the natural light pouring in. The walls carried a softer warmth. Paneled halfway up with vertical wooden boards, they were painted in a milky tone. Above that, the walls were covered with wallpaper in a warm pale pink, scattered with white blossoms, as though spring had left its trace behind.
Steam rose quietly from the water in the tub, twisting a little before disappearing without a sound. On the ledge beside the tub sat a clay pot, its glossy green leaves reaching in every direction as if the plant had tossed its hair loosely across its shoulders.
The wallpapered walls were decorated with large wooden frames, each holding an old botanical print—roots, stems, leaves—bringing the freshness of nature into the eye of the beholder.
Next to the tub stood a slender wooden chair, old but graceful, its back turned to the window. A pale pink towel was draped over its arm. The chair seemed to be waiting, for someone to sit, to open a book, or to simply leave their clothes there while they were bathing.
That same soft pink appeared throughout the room: in the towel on the chair, in the Roman blind above the window, even in the rug. The handwoven rug on the floor was patterned in simple geometric motifs. With pink, green, blue, and terracotta colors, it carried both energy and calm, telling the story of the room in its weave.
This bathroom was more than a place for washing. It was part of the life of the house: a room for immersing yourself in the softness of water, for looking, for pausing, for living. A room simply for being.
